Hey all! Tomorrow, Wednesday at 6:15 pm, UCR Athletics, Marketing Director Jason List will be guest speaking. If you guys are interested in marketing you guys should definitely come check it out because he might or might not be looking for interns as one of our very own e-board was an intern. Dress business casual, dinner will be served, and raffles will be drawn :-)

DON'T FORGET our pool party is this weekend, Saturday, May 18 form 5-8 pm. We'll be having burgers, frozen fruits, beverages, and chips. We definitely hope to see you guys more people at our future socials/fundraisers. One more thing, next Wednesday, we're going to have a guest speaker from ISCA Technologies, Accounting Manager Keith Dalziel in Sproul 2355 @ 6:15 PM. Dinner will be provided and we'll be raffling out 4 $10 gift cards of your choice. DON'T FORGET to pay your membership fees, $10 before May 8th. Have a good weekend!

Hello fellow UBA-ers!
Hope all of you are having a fantastic week back at school from break. Our e-board has been working hard at planning the best meetings for you all, as well as exciting socials and fundraising events.
So let's launch this quarter off with our FIRST social/fundraiser!
Location: Red Hot Kitchen, 1995 University Ave. Riverside, CA 92507
Date/Time: 4/10 Wed, 7-9 PM
**Optional: Watch Evil Dead after the social @ the UV theaters!
***Our club will be receiving 15% of the funds received at the restaurant, so please bring your friends to help contribute!
Whether you've missed our smiling faces :), want to connect with other members and the e-board, or just come for the delicious (check it out on yelp!) Korean and Mexican fusion food at an affordable price, please come out and spend a little of your evening amongst your business minded peers. If you decide to stick around, you have the option of coming along to the UV for the 9:20 showing of Evil Dead. For those of you without a car, anyone living on/close to campus, or everyone who will be on campus for any other reasons around that time we are organizing a walk led by two of our board members at two separate times to offer convenience and a group to talk to and walk there and back with.
The meeting place for the group walks is along the pick-up curb near the arts building or up the street from Parking Lot 24 (on Canyon Crest).
Jonathan's group,(909-762-6019), will be leaving with the first group at 6:30.
Timothy's group,(562-822-5038), will be leaving at 6:45.
We would love and hope to see you all there enjoying good food and company with us. If you'll be joining us please let us know you'll be coming by replying, calling, or texting the above mentioned board members with your name so that we can reserve you a seat; if you want to walk with one of the groups, please mention which group or time you'll want so we can get a head count and not leave anyone behind.

Hi everyone!
Hope you all enjoyed our last meeting featuring NBC Universal! Lindsey was such a pleasure to have and her personality could not have been more down-to-earth. Don't forget that she hires interns every "semester" (three times a year), so make sure you contact her this summer if you're interested.
This week we'll be having our LAST UBA MEETING OF THE QUARTER... featuring Target!
Target has spoken at UBA's meetings before, and believe me, it is such a well-rounded and rewarding company to work for. There will be two representatives coming to present a PowerPoint on INTERVIEW SKILLS. So if you are freshman or sophomore ready to start applying for part-time jobs or internships, this could definitely be useful to you. Target is also still on the hunt for summer interns, so come and network with the representatives if you are interested! The two internships open are Store Management and Distribution Center positions. **Hint hint: Target pays VERY well, so if salary amount easily draws you in, you should definitely consider applying.
As always, our meeting will be on February 27, Wed in Olmsted 1136 from 6-7 PM. There will be FREE DINNER provided, so come with empty stomachs.
Dress in BUSINESS CASUAL, and bring a resume as well as paper to take notes on.

Hi guys! Our Eboard wants to thank all of our attendees who came out to our meeting last night. It was such a an amazing success, especially our guest speaker. We hope she provided you guys with more than enough information regarding Universal Pictures as well as internships. If you guys weren't able to get her email, feel free to email us and we'll let you know. On another note, our attendees per meeting are increasing each meeting and we're excited to see more people come to our meetings. Please spread the word about UBA to your friends and strangers as well! Don't forget our meeting next Wednesday, a recruiter from Target will be guest speaking! Also, next meeting will be our last general meeting. During the 8th week, we'll have our banquet on Wednesday and all will be discussed in next week's meeting. I know memberships were due last week, but if last night was your first meeting, you're still able to pay next week. I know some of you feel like there's no need to pay because you guys can come in and out anytime you want, but just remember our eboards are trying our best to satisfy your needs such as bringing in guest speakers and the free food every meeting. Don't forget that we have a general meeting this Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 6-7 PM in Olmsted 1136 featuring WELLS FARGO. If you're interested in banking and finance, come and learn about career opportunities, as well as get a FREE dinner! It is mandatory that you dress in business professional attire.
If you still have not paid your membership fee yet, it is $10 per quarter. The last day to turn in your fee will be February 20, Wednesday.
**Also, if any of you are interested in working for a green or non-profit company, there will be a career fair tomorrow in HUB 302 from 11 AM - 2:30 PM. Career fairs are VERY important, so definitely spend tonight refining that resume and going over some useful interview skills. Remember to dress sharp. There will be recruiters offering both full/part-time jobs and internships. So be sure to attend!

Just wanted to remind you that our 2nd general meeting is tomorrow, Wednesday, February 6th.

Our first guest speaker of the quarter is from U.S. Foods who specializes in Human Resources and will be here to talk about the food industry, career opportunities within U.S. Foods, and a little bit about her own job as well. Dress in business casual attire, bring your resume, and stock up with questions to ask! It is very possible that the company is looking for job positions to fill up, so be sure to stay behind after the meeting to network with the speaker and show her your interest.
There will be FREE dinner served, so come with empty stomachs! Membership applications will be available, and keep in mind that there is a $10 per quarter fee (applies to existing members as well). If you have already filled out the officer applications that were passed out last week, bring them to this meeting and we will set up interview dates. For those who are still interested in applying, there will be extras that are available tomorrow for you all to fill out.
One last tip: ALWAYS remember that the recruiters who guest speak for UBA are taking out part of their own free time to come and help us all advance our career goals. Our executive board works very hard to invite these representatives to come, and we want to provide you all with experienced, successful professionals who are already in the real workplace to spread their advice and help you get the job you want. So please be respectful and attentive during these meetings! And, as I can't stress this enough, please stay after each meeting to network and connect with the recruiters. Even if the field they are in is not one that may interest you, I guarantee you they can still offer you very valuable tips about how to thrive in the business world, regardless of what industry you want to pursue.
As announced during our first general meeting, UBA is looking for two new event coordinators on boardwho will be primarily responsible for our social and fundraising events. Attached is a copy of the application and more detailed information about the position for those who were interested and did not get a chance to grab one last week. Please print and compete the form and turn it into one of our executive board members this Wednesday at our meeting.
We highly recommend those who are interested to apply, as this will be a rewarding leadership experience that will help polish your resume, build relationships with business individuals, and possibly create career opportunities. Please do not hesitate if you think you lack experience for the position. All class levels are welcomed whether you are a new or returning member!

This week, U.S. Foods will be guest speaking about career opportunities in the Human Resource field. U.S. Foods is one of America's leading distributors that strive to help customer growth in many industries: restaurants, healthcare, educational institutions, hotel food services, and many more. If any of the industries seem to interest you, then be sure to join us for this event followed by a Q&A session afterwards. We understand that not everyone is able to do so, but please come dressed in business casual.
No worries if you missed our first general meeting last week! Pick up a member application form after or before the meeting and pay your $10 quarterly membership fee to join the fantastic events that we have planned for you. Whether you're new to the club OR have been a dedicated loyal member, the Undergraduate Business Association would like to present to you:

We are open to all majors, so if you're a psychology major? Biology major? Don't even worry.
UBA works hard each quarter to recruit inspiring guest speakers from top-notch companies and firms in a LARGE variety of industries to speak to you all about the business world. Whether you're interested in information systems, law and society, or entertainment and media (you definitely might want to join this quarter), these professional representatives will be here to shed light on their specific industries, perhaps even broadening your career goals to something you may never have thought you'd be interested in. Bring your resumes in to each meeting, and just maybe you'll be able to earn an interview for a prestigious internship!
As a well-trained business major, I've learned to believe in the importance of networking and how it plays into an employer's first impression of you. Expect valuable tips on resume-building, interview skills, and professional etiquette; all things you will need regardless of what major you are! Our FIRST GENERAL MEETING!

We are open to all majors, so if you're a psychology major? Biology major? Don't even worry.
UBA works hard each quarter to recruit inspiring guest speakers from top-notch companies and firms in a LARGE variety of industries to speak to you all about the business world. Whether you're interested in information systems, law and society, or entertainment and media (you definitely might want to join this quarter), these professional representatives will be here to shed light on their specific industries, perhaps even broadening your career goals to something you may never have thought you'd be interested in. Bring your resumes in to each meeting, and just maybe you'll be able to earn an interview for a prestigious internship!
As a well-trained business major, I've learned to believe in the importance of networking and how it plays into an employer's first impression of you. Expect valuable tips on resume-building, interview skills, and professional etiquette; all things you will need regardless of what major you are!
